Meet The Pack!

About the Pack — 1Bun2Weenies

Meet the three ridiculous, lovable troublemakers who run our household (and our hearts) — Soprani, Bones, and Scotty. We’re a small but mighty pack living life to the fullest on the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona. This site is our digital scrapbook: a place to share their wild photo adventures, daily shenanigans, healing stories, and all the tail-wagging joy they bring.

Here’s how our little circus came together:

Soprani — Our Tiny Miracle with a Giant Heart

Soprani was found on the side of the road somewhere between Tucson and San Diego — emaciated, with a broken back leg, damaged vertebrae, and terrified after who-knows-what kind of trauma. A kind stranger rushed her to a vet, and she was eventually sent to a rehab facility outside Tucson where some incredibly loving women brought her back from the brink of death.

When Joey and I were looking to add to our family, we saw her photo and just knew. The rescuer, Soli, warned me she’d probably never be a “lap dog” after everything she’d been through. I looked her straight in the eye and said, “Give me a year and I’ll prove you wrong.”

One year and six months later? She’s the snuggliest, most playful, lap-stealing miracle we could have asked for. We thought we were saving her… but she really saved us.

(Read her full story in our upcoming memoir — it’s a tear-jerker with a very happy ending!)

Bones & Scotty — The Double Pie-Bald Weenie Wonders

Bones and Scotty are our two five-year-old mini dachshunds (double pie-balds — yes, the rare all-white-with-spots variety). Until these two showed up, we had never seen white weenie dogs in person either!

About six months ago, our handyman Mark casually mentioned two little pups who had just lost their beloved human mom, Mary. One look at their photo and Joey and I knew the Universe was handing us two miracles wrapped in weenie-dog fur. With the help of their Uncle Tim, Aunt Danielle, and Mark, they officially joined the pack.

Since that day it’s been nonstop shenanigans, zoomies, and pile-ups. These two have brought even more laughter and love into our home than we thought possible.

Soprani

The Tiny Rescue Miracle 🐾

Soprani was found on the side of the road between Tucson and San Diego — emaciated, with a broken leg and damaged vertebrae, scared and fighting for her life. Thanks to a kind stranger and the devoted women at her rehab, she made a miraculous recovery.

We knew the moment we saw her that she belonged with us. The rescuer warned she might never be a lap dog… challenge accepted! One year and six months later, she’s the snuggliest, most playful little boss we’ve ever met.

Fun Fact: She went from “never a lap dog” to professional couch potato in record time. We thought we rescued her — but she rescued us.

Bones

The Calm Chaos Coordinator 🦴

Bones is our sweet, steady pie-bald mini dachshund who somehow always ends up in the middle of the madness. He and his brother Scotty joined our family about six months ago after losing their beloved mom, Mary. One photo was all it took — the Universe clearly knew we needed more white weenie energy!

Fun Fact: He’s the quiet observer who gives the best side-eye when the zoomies start. The calm to Scotty’s storm… until he decides it’s time to join the chaos.

Scotty

The Diaper-Wearing Daredevil 🍼💨

Scotty is our adventurous five-year-old mini dachshund (and current fashion icon in post-surgery diapers). He and Bones came to us as a pair after losing their mom, and we instantly knew they were meant to be part of the 1Bun2Weenies crew.

Fun Fact: Whether he’s rocking a diaper or leading zoomie parades, Scotty brings nonstop energy and laughs. Recovery hasn’t slowed him down — it just gave him a signature look!
